Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This position offers an opportunity to provide essential occupational therapy services within a K-12 educational setting supporting students with moderate to severe disabilities.
Location: Thibodaux, LA
Setting: K-12 schools (five elementary schools and one high school)
Duration: December 1, 2025 May 22, 2026
Schedule: 37.5 hours per week
Caseload: Approximately 71 students, ages 3-22, with services delivered across six schools. Many students will receive indirect services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy evaluations and interventions tailored to meet the needs of students with moderate to severe disabilities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with educational goals.
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and other professionals to support student progress.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all state and federal regulations.
- Provide direct, onsite therapy services; remote or telehealth options are not available for this role.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with an active Louisiana license.
- Experience working in school settings, preferably with students who have moderate to severe disabilities.
- Strong understanding of K-12 educational therapies and individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
